DELIVERY INFORMATION

 - UK Delivery -

Please be aware that from 1st July 2021 EU countries may have to pay import VAT (and customs duties, if payable) and a handling fee upon delivery.

For EU residents, postage is calculated by weight at the checkout.

All packages are sent via Royal Mail or UPS, dependant on weight.

European Delivery is available to:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Vatican City.

WHY USE THE WORD QUEER?

​

We use the word queer to encompass all forms of non-heteronormative relationships.

​

We understand that the word queer has a long history of being used in a derogatory way, however, in recent years it's a term that has been reclaimed by the community and is a word that is widely used to include all LGBTQ+ people.

 

Other options we debated while listing and categorising products on their LGBTQ+ representation included Sapphic, Achillean and Diamoric. However, these are newer terms that many people aren’t familiar with and could make trying to narrow down what you're looking for harder.

 

The final option was listing m/m relationships as gay and f/f relationships as lesbian. However, we stock a lot of media with bisexual and pansexual characters and feel it would be wrong to categorise these characters as something they're not while adding to bi-erasure.

WHY IS THE ASEXUAL SELECTION SO SMALL?

Currently, there isn’t a lot of content created specifically with asexual characters in mind. The range of media with asexual representation is limited - examples include 'Black Wings Beating', 'Common Bonds' and 'How To Be Ace'. At the time of writing this, we stock a limited selection of Asexual media but we encourage you to have a look HERE.

 

As new titles are released over the years, we hope to stock more items with prominent asexual characters. If you have any recommendations of films, books or comics that you would want to see drop us an email at contact@proud-geek.co.uk.

RETURN AND REFUND POLICY

If, for any reason, You are not completely satisfied with a purchase We invite You to review our policy on refunds and returns. This Return and Refund Policy has been created with the help of the Return and Refund Policy Generator.

The following terms are applicable for any products that You purchased with Us.

Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions.

The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

 

Definitions

For the purposes of this Return and Refund Policy:

  • You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.

  • Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us" or "Our" in this Agreement) refers to Proud Geek, Birmingham, B29.

  • Service refers to the Website.

  • Website refers to Proud Geek, accessible from WWW.PROUD-GEEK.CO.UK

  • Goods refer to the items offered for sale on the Service.

  • Orders mean a request by You to purchase Goods from Us.

 

Your Order Cancellation Rights

 

If we have not yet charged or shipped your order, you can cancel by logging into Your Account online and selecting the relevant order. You do not need to contact us. You do not need to give us any reason for your cancellation.

Conditions for Returns

In order to exercise Your right of return, You must inform Us of your decision by means of a clear statement. You can inform us of your decision by:

We will reimburse You no later than 14 days from the day on which We receive the returned Goods. We will use the same means of payment as You used for the Order, and You will not incur any fees for such reimbursement.

In order for the Goods to be eligible for a return, please make sure that:

  • The Goods were purchased in the last 14 days

  • The Goods are in the original packaging where applicable

  • The Goods are in the condition they arrived in

The following Goods cannot be returned:

  • The supply of Goods made to Your specifications or clearly personalized.

  • The supply of Goods which according to their nature are not suitable to be returned, deteriorate rapidly or where the date of expiry is over.

  • The supply of Goods which are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons and were unsealed after delivery.

  • The supply of Goods which are, after delivery, according to their nature, inseparably mixed with other items.

We reserve the right to refuse returns of any merchandise that does not meet the above return conditions in our sole discretion.

Returning Goods

​

You are responsible for the cost and risk of returning the Goods to Us. A return address will be provided via email once the Goods have been confirmed as acceptable for return.

We cannot be held responsible for Goods damaged or lost in return shipment. Therefore, We recommend an insured and trackable mail service. We are unable to issue a refund without actual receipt of the Goods or proof of received return delivery.
